The Bank Workers Charity
Supporting the pensioner community
The Bank Workers Charity support the banking community, past and present, and their families. They do this by providing advice, expert support and, in some cases, financial help.
Their team of trained advisers and caseworkers, work alongside some of the UK’s leading organisations to provide you with specialist support to suit your needs. They are also confidential, so nobody needs to know you’re talking to them, unless you want them to.
As an HSBC pensioner, if you ever find yourself in a difficult situation and don’t know where to turn, Bank Workers Charity is here to help – in partnership with the HSBC Support Fund.
They are the only UK charity supporting past and present bank workers and their families with advice, practical help and financial support.

Financial help and the HSBC Support Fund
Bank Workers Charity can also help if you're worried about money.
One way is through the HSBC Support Fund – a safety net for HSBC pensioners and employees facing sudden extra costs or a drop in income. It provides means-tested grants for essentials like urgent home repairs, mobility equipment or home adaptations after illness or injury. Grants are tax-free and don’t need to be repaid.
Other financial help is also available – and not all of it means-tested – so it's worth calling to discuss your options.
Your legacy, their lifeline
Last year, Bank Workers Charity supported nearly 900 HSBC pensioners and employees through life’s toughest moments – and it’s only possible thanks to generous donors.
But with demand continuing to rise, they need your help to keep this safety net in place for future generations.
Could you leave the charity a gift in your will? It’s simple, costs nothing today, and makes a lasting difference.

How Bank Workers Charity helped Gaya
At 83, Gaya had just lost her husband. Alone and in poor health, she was struggling in a home that was cold, crumbling and unsafe.
With no hot water, a broken oven and long-term health issues that left her unsteady on her feet, even using her kitchen put her at risk of injury.
An occupational therapist recommended vital home adaptations, but Gaya couldn’t afford the £1,280 cost of the work. She contacted Bank Workers Charity, who helped her apply for benefits – boosting her annual income by over £6,000 – covered the cost of her kitchen adaptations and referred her to bereavement counselling to help her process her grief.
"Thanks to Bank Workers Charity, my home is now safer, and I have financial security I never thought possible."
